Hanging Wish Lists

My kids love cutting pictures out of magazines, so last year I made them some hanging wish lists. You can view those HERE. I wasn't too keen on how the photos turned out, so I made new ones this year and they filled their ribbons to the brim!

These have been featured in Kangaroo Mama's Holiday Guide

and will be a tradition in our family for years to come!

Advent Calendar

I saved the boxes I had made last year in Newport and re-stuffed them with candy, fun daily Christmas (age appropriate) things to do and scripture verses this year. Since our youngest is 2-1/2 he gets to participate this year, so my three kiddos take turns on whose day it is to open.

I printed the wonderful list of scripture verses HERE

A few of the notes my kids get to open each day are:

Sing Jesus Loves Me, Watercolor a Christmas Picture, Help Mommy Bake Cookies today, Build a Manger out of Legos, Sing Jingle Bells while standing on one leg, Skype someone you love, Read a Christmas book to someone who can't, go enjoy hot cocoa at Starbucks, Find the baby Jesus, Make a Birthday cake for Jesus, Painte your nails Christmas colors with Mommy.

The skys the limit on advent calendars, make them fun for your individual family! The treats don't need to be huge, our boxes are stuffed with a handful of M&M's, Jellybeans, or One round Cookies & Cream candy treat.

I'm linking up my project on the following blogs:

How-To Make a Paper Bag Rosette

I recently made decor for a cowgirl themed birthday party. A request was made for much larger rosettes than what I typically make for my banners, so I decided to try my hand at a paper bag rosette. It really is quite simple and I took photos of the process to help guide you during this fun project. They make a great natural backdrop, hung from different lengths of ribbon or twine and you can add any color in the center to make them match your own party or wedding decor.

1. I only used one side of the paper bag and cut the entire back off (the part without the bottom) then cut the large rectangle in 1/2, straight down the middle, so you have two long rectangles.
2. start folding an elementary fan fold, back and forth, back and forth, just try to keep the folds the same size.
3. Attach a strip of adhesive to the inside fold of the ends. I use double sided strong sticky tape (or what crafters call boloney tape, since you peel off the red backing), you can find this at any craft store and it really is amazing stuff! and then depending on how full you want your rosette, you keep attaching more to the ends, to get your desired length. I used three strips of paper bag per rosette.
4. Peel off the last piece of backing from your tape and now you'll have a full folded circle, which you form into a lamp shade shape and then lightly push down the center to form your rosette.
5. Have a hot glue gun handy and insert glue into the center hole and around the top edges where you will be covering with whatever shape or stamped image/message you'd like. Attach that right away.
6. Punch a hole in one top side and string up for decoration.

You can also make smaller versions of these for your Christmas trees, a fun project to do with your little kiddos or young cousins! Have fun folding!

Toothbrush Storage

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a photo I took awhile ago of my kiddos toothbrush drawer. I took this one today, after I put each of the liner bins in the dishwasher to rid of toothpaste junk...and tada, a new clean drawer. Piece of cake and there isn't any arguing at bedtime!

How-To for Punches

If any of you punch a bunch, like me...then I'm sure you have a few punches that are dull and won't punch as cleanly as they did when you first purchased them. To resharpen your punches, all you need to do is grab a few pieces of tin foil and punch punch punch till you feel like your punches are clean. In the photo above, I've used waxed paper and punched until I felt like my circle punch would punch out a clean circle. Voila, it did!

Now go grab your inexpensive tools from your kitchen and clean your punches!

Mug Exchange with Stephany

I joined in yet another mug exchange with Stephany who blogs over at Our Hyder Home, previously known as The Midnight Hershey...

I've used them both several times over, thanks lady, you ROCK!!

if you's like to see the mug I mailed to Danielle, check out her blog post HERE.

Orange Organza Fall Wreath

Organza DIY Fall Wreath - LeroyLime

I've been so inspired by all the fun wreaths out there in internet lala land that I decided to make another to add to my fall/halloween decor. I picked up everything I needed at Joann's Fabric Store (only because Hobby Lobby was closed that day) and got to work cutting strips of organza.

Organza DIY Fall Wreath - LeroyLime

I started off tying two dark, one light orange and so on...until I ran out of organza and there my wreath sat (for about two weeks, mind you) till I remembered to pick up two more rolls.

Organza DIY Fall Wreath - LeroyLime

The black flower was in the dollar bin at Joann's and I picked it up, thinking it would be a fun addition to just pin onto the finished wreath. After fluffing and spinning the knots this way and that, so as to disguise them a bit, I hung this sweet little "fall" paper banner behind the wreath, with bakers twine.

And here's my new DIY creation hanging on our front door...the perfect Welcome when we arrive HOME (and don't enter through the garage, haahaa)

Happy Fall Y'all!!

I'm entering this wreath at the following blog linky parties:
